How we write, check and correct
ServiceJacket content is written for working first responders. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Who writes our content
Guides and listings are produced by the ServiceJacket Editorial Team. We do not invent authors, ranks or credentials, and we don't put a fake face on our work. When a subject-matter expert reviews a guide, we will name their role and what they checked on that page.
Sources
- Training listings come only from a provider's own public page or an official public schedule such as FEMA's OpenFEMA data. Every listing links to its source and shows the date we last checked it. See how we verify.
- Promotion guides are general guidance. Each one lists the official bodies and standards to check, and reminds readers that their own announcement, civil service rules and contract control.
- Help resources list only organizations' published contact lines. The help hub is never monetized.
Review dates
Every guide shows when it was published and last reviewed. Listings are re-checked against their sources on a rolling schedule, and sessions that have ended are taken out of search results.
What we never publish
- Invented reviews, jobs, salaries or statistics. Empty means empty.
- Official seals, patches or anything that implies an agency endorses us.
- Personal data about responders. Career jackets are private by default and stay in your browser unless you share them.
Money and independence
Paid placement, when offered, is labeled and never changes search order. Affiliate links, if we add them, will be disclosed on the page. See our disclosure.
